The story of the day was weather, rain, winds, rough seas and an empty Superboat Class. The winds, at 14 mph, with the rough seas challenge the racers even causing several to drop out due to these conditions or mechanical issues. The conditions even reduced the crowds that normally line the beaches along the course from the Cocoa Beach Pier to Lori Wilson Park.
